I’m Darya McClure
I am passionate about helping couples and individuals strengthen their most important relationships and create a life for themselves that is truly worth living.
I am a LMFT in Arizona with over 10 years of experience working within the mental health field. As a Ukrainian refugee who grew up in Germany I have first hand experience with difficult life transitions, learning new languages, and assimilation. My interest in Psychology began my senior year in high school with an AP course, that had me competing and winning at a state and national level. Among my friend and family circles I was always someone people turned to for a listening ear, shoulder to cry on, or support. I thought, “I might as well get properly trained in the field so I can be more effective and really help people.” With that I pursued a Bachelor in Psychology and German and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at ASU.
I began by working with children, and their families both in biological families as well as foster/adoptive settings, and while I adored working with children, I quickly realized that the best way for me to support children, was to work directly with their parents and caregivers.
I sought special training in the golden standard of couples therapy known as EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy) in 2016 along with ongoing consultation and training, and realized my affinity for working with the toughest couples cases such as treating sexual concerns, infidelity, navigating infertility, faith crises/transitions, and being stuck in cycles of disconnection and misunderstanding.
With this strong passion for couples work, my fellow couples therapist colleagues often entrust me in working with their clients on a individual basis to assist their couples work as a collaborative team. When working with individuals I always incorporate a strong relational lens in order to assure that you have a support system around you when our work ends. With individuals I am able to dive deep into healing utilizing EMDR to create lasting positive changes in your life.
My Ideal client is bright, motivated, and able to look inward at what might be holding them back from living the life they want. If this is you, lets chat, and find out how the right treatment can help you succeed.
